it was recently released in the US at a price of $296, but was released in Asia/Pacific a few weeks ago. Some details available here

not a poor cheap panel really, just using TN Film technology which is cheaper to manufacturer and implement in TFT screens. It's the same with all the 22" models at the moment (and nearly all the 17" and 19" market for that matter), they all use TN Film
