Dell updated xps m1730 spec

just had a look at their web site and they changed the spec of their top end laptops

Video Card
1GB nVidia SLI Dual GeForce 9800GT graphics card

Memory
6144MB 800 MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (1x2GB + 1x4GB)

I noticed they have a bios update, do you guys think that you can update the memory in the older ones to 6gb too ?

Theres nothing stopping you from updating your bios on your laptop. Its an easy enough process, just make sure you have battery power to last the installation process, otherwise theres a possibility that it will corrupt.

This should add support for the RAM if your planning to upgrade.

It won't allow a BIOS update to occur unless the system is connected to mains power anyway, so there's no worry of that.
