bought a second hand vostro 1710 laptop from a friend, he had smashed the lcd, so i bought one to replce it, and the screen is only showing a black image, no dell boot up logo, basically no display, so i bought a new cable for the lcd, fitted, same thing, but i can plug it into an external and it will work, and recognises that the laptop screen is there, yet will not under any circumstances display anything, iv even set bios to defaults, nothing changes, i have tested the replacement lcd in another laptop and can confirm it works fine, anyone have any ideas?
