Dell vs. ASUS

hehe I actually saw that link, that's what really raised suspicion about dell. and I thought lenovo were good laptops! Ohh look at HP, that explains why my and my friend's pavilion vga went just after under 2 years :/ !!!

Anyway today he bought the Asus. seems to be of good quality but only time will tell. he upgraded to 2 years parts warranty so he should be quite safe hehe.

thanks all for the feedback ppl :)

Personally, I think Dell laptops are great, and everything is easily accessible if you do need to upgrade or replace something.

I don't have any experience with Asus laptops, I can say that Acer have come a long way in the last 5 years though, their newer laptops are really solid :)

I have a mouse pad that has it's own mind and my sisters laptop has had 2 hdd replacements and now has something else wrong with it... I guess some are good some ant... But they do replace quickly.

Asus I know support is meant to suck I don't know if this has improved? I know my dad has dealt with them in the past and wasn't happy.. But I would say check out TOSHIBA Satellite A660-18D it has a i7 and NVIDIA® GeForce® G 310M with CUDA™ technology for £799.99
