Dell Warranty?

I sold a laptop to someone, im fairly sure it had the receipt in the box from the original purchase, but he says he cant find it. He is worried about the warranty, does anyone know if the receipt is needed for the warranty or does the Dell Warranty operate based on the serial number of the item?

You should be able to get warranty info by logging in to their support website using the System Tag.

Whether or not he'll be able to claim on it being the second owner is another matter though.

I doubt warranty will carry across as he's second owner. You wont need receipt as dell go by their system tags. He will just have to pretend to be you in a warranty claim or get you to sort the warranty out for him
