Dell Workstation memory confusion

Hi There,

One of the workstations (A precision PWS 670 with 1 x Irmindale 3.6Ghz Xeon and 4Gb RAM, 512 Mb Nvidia quadro FX4400 Gfx) where I work has a weird issue where windows mycomputer properties only reports 2.75 Gb of RAM but then mentions something called Physical Address extension.

I checked in bios and CPUZ and they both report the 4 x 1Gb we expected to be fitted.

Any ideas as to why this might be?

Thanks in advance,

E-I

Xp Pro has a 4GB total memory limit - total meaning physical and virtual (i.e. your pagefile) memory. How big is the pagefile on the system? 1.25 gig per chance?

Page file is set at 2Gb, but that sounds interesting none the less!

With a machine with thismuch ram I suppose removing pagefile completely would make sense anyway, shall try and let you know,

Thanks for your help,

Disabling the page file made no noticeable difference.... Still showing actual ram as 2.75 Gb and also showing pagefile usage in task manager even though its disabled I'm not sure there isn't some sort of memory workaround applied on this machine, timeto query dell i think.
