got a hold of one of these little boxes to play with. its passive so makes no noise at all which is nice and doesnt seem to be that bad in use.

spec info is here: https://www.parkytowers.me.uk/thin/wyse/d/dx0q/
top website for info on these devices.
changes i made were added extra stick of ram to get 8gb (2 x 4gb), repasted cpu, swapped out original 32gb ssd for a 60gb sandisk u110 one i had lying around, was able to open up the sandisk ssd which had a half size board in it with fits perfectly in the sata dom slot.
does have a mcpie slot free so could stick in a wifi card or something i guess.

power consumption was interesting:

running windows server 2022

peak load around 22w stressing cpu + gpu (maybe i could have got an extra watt or 2 out if done some disk based stress too.)
cpu only stress with cpuz got it to 12.5w
gpu only stress got it to 18w
idle was 6.4w
idle with keyboard and mouse removed was 5.9w

cpu and gpu at the same time and temps were just under 74c after running for half an hour on stress.
dunno why they ship it with a 65w power adapter id be surprised if even with all the usb ports occupied it even pulls half that, and i know dell make 45w adapters for other netbooks etc.

got some pics

not sure what to use this for at the moment, it could be used as a wireguard server or maybe even a retro games box.

this unit was brand new in box with psu, cables and a mouse for £18 inc delivery.
ddr3 sodimm i had lying around so no other expense.

thought id put this info up on here incase people are interested in one. far cheaper than a raspberry pi and probably more capable too, cpu supports AMD-V, AES and AVX so its got options.

Out of interest, where did you pick this up for £18!?

Looking for an ultra-low powered windows box to run a PRTG monitor (annoyingly I can't find anything like it that'll run on an RPi400) and this could well fit the bill at an amazing price point!

They is around on auction site etc. If getting one go for a GX-412HC, similar performance but even less power consumption.
Search for the cpu model number and options will come
