Just waiting on a Dell XPS 17 arriving.
Spec as below.

Is anyone able to recommend a suitable carry case for it.

I've seen comments that some of the 17.3" laptops bags are too small for it. Targus XL City Gear Messenger Carrycase for example.
I was looking at the Dell Energy 17.3" Messenger case on their website earlier but the person I was speaking to at dell was unable to confirm if it would fit or not. And now I can't find the bag on their website unless i search using google. :\

Thanks

Hi There i got a case off the Auction site ..take a look there ;)

I bought a Belkin 17 Inch Messenger Laptop Bag - Jet/Cabernet (do a search for that and it will come up), fitted the XPS17 in fine, it even fits in my clevo P170HM, the huuuuge power brick, plus other cables etc with room to spare.

cheers for the suggestion.
Will take a look.
would the laptop within the neoprene sleeve still fit in the case?
Or is that just protection overkill lol.

Sounds good to me, I'm interested in knowing if you can fit the neoprene slip over the L702x and then put that in a case.

It will fit in the bag i suggested though to be honest its well padded and i dont think you will need it. but if you want to do it it will fit. its a very tight fit getting the XPS 17 into a 17 inch neoprene slip though!

cheers for the suggestion on the belkin case.
nice case and the laptop fits although it is a bit snug.
Had to put it in front end first due to the large battery.
Zips only just close round the edge so think it might be a bit too tight if I added the neoprene as well.
but as you say, the comparment for the laptop is quite well padded.

Now i just need to get the audio working and i'm sorted.
for some reason Dell shipped it with a bios that half the driver's don't like if you do a fresh install rather than use the factory installed image.

Not sure if it's too late but apparently the best thing to do is make a copy of the c:\\drivers area of the original dell install before you wipe and fresh install.
