Thought I'd keep it away from the outlet thread as I bought it new.
Had my XPS 17 for a week now. I bought it through work as I needed a new laptop but I also wanted something to act as an interim home PC until I can replace my dead system later this year.
Awesome piece of kit. i7-2630QM, 6GB DDR3 1333, GT555M and 1TB hard disk (2 x 500gb) which came to appx £840 inc.
Only slight niggle is the 1600 x 900 panel. Resolution is fine at that size IMO but viewing angle has to be spot on. I only used it for 10 mins though as always have it hooked up to a monitor so not done any playing around with brightness, colours etc.
Weight is much better than I expected too and JBL speaker set-up is pretty impressive given the size of the speakers. Keyboard feels pretty solid and I've finally found a touch-pad I can get on with.
Would reccommend for anyone looking for a good all round machine with the ability to do some gaming as well. Starcraft II is my game of choice and I've not seen it dip below 90 fps in-game, at high settings in a 4v4 game. Not the most hardware challenging game, I admit.
