I got the aforementioned laptop off the outlet about 2 months ago , when i received it there was the small problem of it not having the same screen as advertised so after a long and arduous wait i finally got a dell engineer to confirm it and a guy was sent out with the replacement screen when he had dismantled the screen and replaced it he had broken most of the clips for the rear bezel so ordered a replacement one . What i have recently realized after using the laptop more often is on the screen the bezel doesn't make contact with the screen with the left and right hand sides having big gaps between the bezel and screen , is this normal or do i have to contact dell again ?

I would contact Dell about this problem and ask for another replacement if you are not happy , the Dell engineer should have sorted problem . . .

i just wanted to make sure first it wasnt aesthetic , if anyone else has a dell xps l502x could they do me the favor of looking at the corner of your screen and see if theres a gap on each side

sorry to revive this thread but after finally getting around to contacting dell support and having an on site technician sent out the problem turns out not to be the bezel and more with the lcd screen being too recessed which leads me back to wondering if this is how it is meant to be , please could anyone with a l502x (Dell xps 15) look at the side of their laptop screen and see if there's a gap (about 5 mm) that starts wider towards the bottom , it would be very much appreciated and finally i will have an answer.

Just looking at my l502x now, the screen seems to be evenly recessed all the way around the screen with no noticeable gaps or unevenness in the border.

Though I might have not fully understood your description, a photo could be useful for comparison.

its a very difficult thing to photograph

essentially between the front piece of plastic and the actual lcd screen from the screen side theres a gap of 3mm between the screen and bezel

Hmm well I'd say there was maybe 0.5mm tops between mine if at all, maybe you should call Dell again? 3mm seems a lot, plenty of dust and foreign objects could potentially get in there.

that was my thinking , had dell come out allready and after the unlucky technician snapped the new bezel while removing it as it didnt solve the problem i thought i would double check XD
