Are these still a viable option as a gaming laptop??

The only games am really looking at playing are Starcraft 2 (WOL + HOTS) some steam games, cs:s, tf2.

the specs of the laptop are - the important ones anyway ha

c2d T7700 @ 2.4
4gb ram
8800M GTX sli

So would this be worth while for the right price??

I had one of these years ago

Going by this as a rough guide, a pair of 8800M GTX's in SLI is on average around 10% slower than a current(ish) gen GT640M, so looking at the more recent game benchmarks of the 640M's benchmark results (further down the page) and taking 10% off, you can see roughly what to expect.
I've never played Starcraft 2 so I couldn't comment specifically

Looking at some of the reviews, the cpu that comes with the laptop seems that it could limit the gpu??

Did you have any issues with build quality when you had yours?

The laptops coming up to a fair few years old with that in mind , better to put the money elsewhere you think??
