This was in the HotUKDeals email today. Seems an absolute bargain!

"Dell XPS 17 Laptop. (i7-2670QM, 17" HD+ Screen, 6GB RAM, 1TB HDD, 3GB Graphics) was £1433 now £679.15 + 10.1% Top Cashback (£622.55).Free Delivery @ Dell"

Only down side is I paid only slightly less for a pretty similar spec machine from the outlet on Tuesday

EDIT: The link is quite laggy. If it's not working, you can go through the dell homepage to XPS17 etc and I think it all still works.

That is a very good deal! I paid £580 for exactly the same spec (with 350gb less HDD space). Probably would have preferred to pay the extra £50 and get it new. :p

What is likely to happen to the offer once it expires on the 15th? Will it be go back to it's orignal full price? or will the upgraded parts just be lowered to there original ones?
Hoping I can order one while they are still on offer soon!

Not sure if I'm honest. There is usually some sort of deal on most of the time (if not on the price of the laptop, on the price of upgrading individual components within it), so it might just be a case of wait and see what comes along. If buying new from Dell (as opposed to the outlet) there is normally a number of vouchers you can use (think the one above uses something like a 15% off voucher, 10% off with topcashback, something off through quidco and possibly a few others) which when put together can give you a pretty big discount (although again, it might be a case of waiting until there is a few vouchers on at once).

Thats a Great deal ! i have the same spec XPS Dell Laptop with a Blu Ray Burner i added and mine cost £710.00 brand new off the Auction site :) the Blu Ray burner was £67.00 LG 6x fastest at present .So if i was you i,d get buying it as thats a deal not to missed ! If your interested i,ve found the Nvidia Vision 2 3d glasses kit for £107.00 inc postage

If you use the 10% off from Topcashback how is it worked out? Is it 10% off of the price (Once the £635 (I think) saving is added)?

Or is it 10% off after all of the other discounts?

Also is it possible to somehow add the discounts from QuidCo and Topcashback? or can you only use one site?

This is probably not going to be much use because if I'm honest, I don't know - I don't think I've ever used Topcashback. I guess it might depend on the type of discount - some are codes for a voucher that you enter at the checkout / basket etc while some you have to go the the website (Dell) through the discount site (Quidco etc). I think you can only use 1 of the 2nd type (going through another website).

I was referring to the one where you go through there website. At the moment they currently offer 10% off if you go through there website if that helps :)

Sorry yeah that was more of a general answer.

Just had a quick look on topcashback and I'm still not sure what stage it is calculated. There is a part of me that thinks it's at the start, a part of that says the end - again not much use, sorry :(

Looking at the original post on hotukdeals, it seems people have been using both quidco and topcashback. This is what I could find on quidco for dell - the 4th one from the top ("10% off all XPS orders with Intel + 8% cashback") seems to need a code to benefit from it, so you may be able to use that after going to the Dell website through topcashback (top link). Also, don't forget the code in the hotukdeals post (15% off: NDSMGBHFWKW2S9 ).

To get the codes / go through links on topcashback, quidco etc I think you normally have to sign up (although this is normally free).

Think the best thing is just to have a play around really and see what you can get off. If I get a chance later, I will have a go but at the moment I probably wont have time. Hopefully this is more useful :)

Perfect, just ordered one with backlit keyboard, 1920 screen and bluetooth, went through quidco so hopefully it will work, never used quidco before!

Came to £789.99 before quidco

I've heard that the standard screen is not so good. But i've heard others mention that on the 17" screen the difference between the 900 screen resolution and the screen which has 1080p resolution is unnoticeable. I'll probably upgrade to the 1080p screen anyway :)

Do the offers expire on the day they are listed? or do replaced the day after?

Some people on here have said the 900p vertical viewing angles are terrible although it's fine when viewing directly in front of the laptop with little tilt whereas the 1080p screens viewing angles are much more tolerable.

How much was it after using quidco mate?

Quidco just tracked with a discount of £52 ish, so it appears I got 8% of the order back before vat....so a bit less than I expected, that works out at £738 delivered, when I was expecting around £725 ish.

edit: just noticed you can get the gx660R 650 for £900 after a £40 off code, and msi's £100 cashback offer, then an additional £10 off and 2% through quidco making it £875 delivered.....awfully tempting to cancel the dell....

For the extra £140 you would get the 5870 card, 8gb ram, downgrade to an i5...but blueray and an extra year standard warranty..hmmm
