Dells service tag

Hello all,
As the title says I own a Dell u2713hm which I bought from (competitor) yesterday. I want to register this monitor but I need a service tag to progress but as there is not one on the back of the monitor I am being sent round in circles. As far as I know its because **** have ownership of these monitors so it needs transferring to me? Can anybody shed any light on this please? I have tried all the auto detect service tags and everything and you cannot even speak to anyone without the service tag! It is driving me mental! :mad:

Plus it will not let me use the 20 letter/digit code on the back either I assume because they have ownership?
 
Yeah I have but no reply as of yet. To be honest the whole reason I bought a Dell instead of the Hazro was because of the easy returns warranty. Starting to regret it now......
I would rather of bought form OCUK but there was £130 dif!
 
Nope. The site says monitors may not have a service tag on them but then fails to give me a way to get one without having one!!!!!!! The auto detect program fails to give me one as well.
 
Monitors don't have service tags. I'm not sure you can register a monitor with Dell. Whenever I had to RMA, I just give them the monitors serial number and if required the SVC number of the seller. Ask the retailer for this.
 
Thanks guys. I found out that when the postie delivered it this morning the sticker with the service tag on it was ripped off and when I went to collect my indian takeaway half the sticker with "service ta......." was stuck to my doorstep! At least I know it has a service code but I hope I can recover it.
