Delta Search malware / virus

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this Delta nonsense. Searching the web found a number of links and apparently quite popular. I tried removing this from a friends laptop via the usual add or remove programs but it doesn't seem to exist here. So I was wondering has anyone found this and successfully removed it without formatting?

I think Malware Bytes or Spybot picked it up and got rid of it for me.

Have you looked at the browser's settings to see if the the Delta stuff has been made the default search engine + home page?

Run both Malware Bytes and Spybot SD
Restart your PC in safe mode
Run both Malware Bytes and Spybot SD again
Restart your PC and hopefully it should have gone, this method seems to work for me.

ive removed this from a few peoples computers, usually its just in the browser settings as

default homepage
default search
default page when opening new tab

if you remove it from those and then delete it as a possible search engine choice then it should go away until the user repeats what they did to get it added in the first place

Thanks guys I'll give this a try. I used AdAware which didn't remove it and AVG didn't recognize it either (strange) but I will try the ones mentioned above.

Did you remove the other program that sometimes installs it self with Delta Search. I think it is called Browser Protect or something similar.

Get rid of that first and it should make removing Delta Search easier.

I'll try to find that to. I have no idea what he (my mate) installed and what it came packaged with but I'll have a search. Not sure whether it came with Samung Kies, could be wrong but thats the only thing he said he installed.
