I'm planning a custom case build. I have all the sketches done in Sketchup and I'm waiting for a friend to convert them into a suitable format to give to the machine shop; that said he's taking a while so I may just learn to use OnShape and do it myself.
The brief is fairly simple: High performance 1440p liquid cooled gaming rig with media PC capabilities stuffed into a small enough package to go in my living room. I'm not lucky enough to have a man-cave or office so I have to make do with a small corner of the living room, and up until a week ago I didn't even have my own desk, the PC was simply hooked up to the TV with me using the TV cabinet as my desk.
Anyways, enough of my moping, you want to know the plan. Well I've been wanting to do a full AMD rig as an homage to my first ever gaming PC so Ryzen 5 1600 and an RX Vega 56 is the name of the game. I'll be using EK's Liquid Cooling line-up to get some good value water cooling kit in there too; 360mm radiator of course.
Here's the designs:
So far I have a 4x4GB kit of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz RAM and a Corsair SF600 power supply ready to go into the rig with plans to get the CPU/Motherboard next month, then the GPU whenever I can. The case is obviously the top priority though. I'll be re-using my current 500GB SSD and 500GB 2.5" HDD for storage.
