I've been having issues with Demon internet for years on and off but this really is taking the cake. I've been discussing with members on another forum about certain sites being disabled for weeks now (game.co.uk, gameplay.co.uk, gamestation.co.uk, etc) and today I'm having yet more fun with this demonic ISP.

On their website - Demon.net - they have a set of tools you can log in to and use which come in quite handy. One of these tools is a usage tracker, in which I can see how much of the 50Gb cap I'm using of my UNLIMITED connection each month ;) Well today I've been trying to log into it and it says my host name or password is wrong. I swear I am typing in the EXACT name and password that I've been typing in every time and its worked. Yet now it's not. I've tried turning off my firewall and I still cant get on there. I have no idea what to do. This is just one of a number of incredible errors I've been experiencing today on my seemingly comical version of Windows 7. Other hilarious issues include websites not loading, juddering youtube on firefox (even with latest flash players, etc) and my personal favourite - Google Chrome failing to load and play youtube videos. Someone shoot me.

Try using 4.2.2.2 as your DNS address for starters. See if this allows you to access those websites :)

Will try this and let you know how I get on, thanks

Edit - 4.2.2.2 gave me some joy with loading a couple of those sites, but 4.2.2.3 managed to load all of them..

Awesome speeds!

Thats not acceptable. You are syncing at the correct speeds but that download is atrocious. Get complaining :)

Tell me about it. Can anyone please tell me if the Windows 7 x64 driver here works? I need it but it wont download, I dont know whether its because my internet is so bad or what

Looks like my old Demon Dial-up account!

Turns out I've been capped.. Well I say that but they dont even know. I'm currently living with 2 other heavy internet users so it wouldn't surprise me. I rang up and got through to technical support and it was beyond a joke. He said "There are 2 pages we can look at for peoples accounts. On yours, 1 says your capped, the other one doesn't." I asked if I was over my cap, he said he "Doesn't think so"

The most amusing part was when I asked why I didnt receive an email notifying me that it was going to happen, like it said I should on the customer support. He went into how in all his time working there he had never known of them sending out notification emails to users like that. They better have an edit of their website because it clearly states notification emails are sent out when the users are reaching their capped limit, and when the throttle is being lifted. I'm currently looking into joining another ISP, my dad is with Orange who he says dont 'throttle' his speed, even if he reaches his cap.
