Hi all,

One of my cars (e36) has a dented sill where the sill is pushed in about 1 inch along about 2 foot of it. Is this even structural on the e36? Would it be considered an MOT fail?

Thanks,
Nick

If it's not rotten or at the jacking point I don't see how it could be a fail. Potential advisory if anything. I suppose there's only one way to find out.

Cool, only a bit of surface corrosion where the paint has scratched as it's reasonably recent. Jacking points are fine.

I will give it a go - bit of a pain if it fails as it's being used daily atm.

It will be fixed!!

It's going in for its bi-annual refresh soonish (rear arches blown over again :p) and getting a general tidy up.

It's been used a lot for commuting recently, and has racked up a grand total of £0 in repairs/maintenance in the last year :D ... excluding this parking dink, so I feel a bit of attention is deserved.

I think we had the rear arches done once, have you had to do them before now ?

what mileage is it up to now ?

Yup - only cost me £150 to do them last time though (April 2009). Not sure of the mileage, I think it's in the region of 165,000!
