I close my eyes when the dentist is at work inside my mouth, just wondering if its normal to have your eyes closed pretty much the entire time you're sat on the dentists chair and they're working on you?

Not sure if its a anxiety thing or just because it would be weird to look at the dentist with them so close to my face.

Thanks

Usually they have some form of complicated diagram on the ceiling behind them that you can look at.

I don't mind anything Dentist-y apart from when they are prodding during a checkup with their evil tool of pointy-pain. Also when they opt to do a superficial filling without anaesthetic... that is a horrible time; you're braced for shooting pain...

I try to keep them open but the lights make my eyes water and I end up closing them with fake tears running down my face and me feeling embarrassed.

Eyes open here.

Weird thing with me though is tongue wobble. Every time I go to the dentist he keeps telling me to keep my tongue still. Trouble is it wobbles by it's self and I'm not aware of it. So what I do is push my tongue onto my lower teeth and then I know it's not moving.

Open here.

And the tongue thing, I totally lose track of it. I'll think I've got it out of the way, then the stray thought will start - have I really? Or do I need to move it? And then I start realising that I can't tell if I am even moving it. Eventually, as far as I know, it could be thrashing about like the coming of Cthulhu.

I have apologised to dentists in the past about it, but they say it's quite a common thing.

Happens to me too sometimes, even with those fancy shades you have to wear.

It was eyes open for years with my old dentist - she was stunning - she was so nice it was a pleasure to go. Her nurse was good as well - used to like following her down corridor as she walked like the Martian in Mars Attack where Martian dressed up in tight dress and has high styled blond hair. - Good old days

- Then I moved house and new dentist was awful - dead opposite - fat with smelly breath and she never wore a mask. - she left and had East European and she was nice but she has left - So now who know what my next one will be like.

Perhaps have to go private again.

Eyes closed and fly down, ;) you never know the assistant might get frisky....lol :D

Joking! :p Eyes open of course, checking to see what instrument of torture he is inserting into my 1st orifice.
