Ok not been for 7 years and I guess I’m struck off what ever dentist I was with when it was free. I’m 27 now and have four false teeth that are on a pallet, they have worn down now and I need to go back to a dentist and get some new ones made up…

Just wondering how one goes about this now? Been out of the game for 7 years now and will need to sort this soon,

So any advice on the matter would be good, as crazy as it sounds! Do you just call them up? Do prices vary? Or are they set hourly rates? Bring back the free NHS ones I say!

there are still some nhs people and suprisingly dentists make more money out of them than they do from some private practices...

ill ask my sister, although shes only a trainee dentist she may have an idea (when i next speak to her 2/3 days)

I just enrolled with my local dentist and asked them about the vague prices.... was enuff for me to turn up only when "desperate" turned out was a lot less cos I paid £48 for 3 wisdom teeth pulled out, I thought they forgot the zero on the end so never came back ;)

I too dont like em ill only go if I feel theres a need too..... but im so glad had those wisdom teeth out I can reach that brush right back and clean properly!

I don't suppose it's an emergency? If it is, or if you have problems finding an NHS dentist that will take you on, you may be able to get treated at a Dental School if there's one local to you.

Here in Stoke it took me over a year to find a private dentist that would have me. I'd been through every number in the Yellow Pages and got nowhere.
One day I rang the dentist that is 100 yards from me and begged them to take me and I'd rang at exactly the right time. Thank goodness for Polish dentists because one had started that day and was taking new NHS patients :D
Me a very happy bunny and I'm never going to miss an appointment again.

Not sure about dentures but, kings college will do dental work for free if you don't mind an amateur working on you under supervision.

but yeah need to sort something out before these things fall apart!

iirc, the NHS will treat you if you turn up to a hospital and it needs doing THEN
I would have thought thats something like being punched in the face and losing a teeth or something... not "megh, i left it for 7 years and now i need help" :P
