Hi All,

I've bought 5 new batteries for my Fuji X-T1 ready for the Safari I'm going on at end of the month. Reading leaflet with the batteries they recommend fully discharging the battery before charging again to get the "best" out of it.

I would like to do this before I go away on 30th June but what is the best way, just set the camera to constantly take random photos (I don't have time to go out on a propper a days shoot before :( ) or would you just not bother?

I guess what I want to know is; has anyone done this before and noticed a difference in battery life from not doing it?

Cheers Zaf,

It's old thinking that still seems to hang around no real need to do it with modern batteries.

They're likely to be Lithium Ion batteries so you won't be able to fully discharge them as that would kill them, all you'd be doing is emptying them to the point the protection circuit kicks in - I'm not sure I've ever heard that this is useful.

Cheers guys, it just seems very strange that the manufacture what recommend to do this. Odd!
