Deploy Windows 7 over WAN?

Technically, I thought this was possible with 2008 R2 and WDS / MDT.

Does anyone have a link to articles on this?

We have a remote user who won't be in the office for a long time and we need to push Windows 7 to their machine if possible

This is how my company is doing it for everyone - I just did it over the WAN but I was in a satellite office, so I did have a decent, stable connection.

I can only imagine misery should it be a home user and something happens.......

when doing this there is usually a deployment point in each office.

this was how we did it.

You could set WDS on a box in there location and uploads builds.

If you have SCCM implemente you can create offline media and post it to them?

Possible but remember this would be a couple of gigs over WAN. What speed is your WAN link?

Do you actually need to do this for an operational reason? Personally I'd leave it with what ever OS it has until it can be put on a better conection as I'm not sure the gains from having it on Windows 7 would out weight the risk of cooking a remote employees PC. Obviously in your setup this maybe worthwhile!
