Depollution fluid!!!!

OUch! really!

Had my scudo's in for 80k service today.
Apparently they all need the depollution additive topping up
£67 a litre!!!, it holds 6 litres!!!!, x5 buses!!!!

Being nice to the Earth really sucks :/

The fluid can be bought for £25+Vat from ECP.

You need to do your research rather than just assuming that dealers aren't trying to fleece you

i've found some patfluid stuff on that site which says it's compatible

However filling it may be another matter, its car up fuel tank off to get at it by the looks of things (im wondering if i misheard and they said £67 for 5l)
Unsure if this is dealer poop-speak but they also said it needs a 'forced regen'? after its been filled to reset the ecu?

I don't mind jacking it up and doing it once, but 5 times is a bit poo :/

There are several different grades, ad-blu is too thick for most cars and will throw errors. £40l is the highest I have seen, £20l is around average.

Completely different stuff. Adblue is injected into the exhaust to reduce NOx emissions. Eolys fluid is injected into the fuel and it used to assist regeneration in Diesel Particulate Filters by lowering the temperature at which the carbon can be burnt.

You can get 4.5 litres of Eolys fluid for £120 delivered from online auction site.
