After having searched high and low for a decent Impreza and Evo VI to no avail (saw a lot of junk) I have today put a deposit down on a late 1998 Subaru Forester STB turbo...

Car is in A1 condition (photos will follow) and I paid £8,800 for it (116,000 km on the clock)...

Only downside is its an Auto, but it will be fine for a runaround, and compared to the other junk I saw, this was a steal...

Gives the best balance between performance and practicality for running down to the Beach with the kids and going shopping....

:D

At £270 pa fully comp insurance, you cant knock it for value either...

Its only a stock 240bhp version, but I am sure I can do things with that...

Still goes like stink for a 4wd bus

:D

hehe yeah, 240bhp only.. lol

They can easy make 350 bhp tho with a few mods, and a lot of them are modded, here... this is a peach tho, looks like its just driven out of the showroom, alloys completely unmarked, immaculate interior... very nice car and drives like new as well...

New MOT 12 months tax, new tyres all round, and my mate is gonna do a full valet for free...

:D

Knocked him down from £9500, felt cruel doing so after seeing all the other sheds around the price they were asking for them... shoulda seen his face when I said £8500... lol

Picking it up next weekend, so will post some pics then, its silver which is a great colour over here as it doesnt show the dust much

:D

Mate, he's being right in sayin gonly 240bhp. We own properties in Paphos, and its crazy how many Evos/Scoobies etc you see around there. 1 in every 5 cars is modified or performance cars. :O

Its also crazy how many of the owners die in them each month

Guys, any Forester experts who know if there are ecu/exhaust/intake upgrades available for this car?

I know the suspension and brakes can be upgraded with Impreza aftermarket items but cant find any info on ecu's and engine mods etc...

First port of call is a nice exhaust to hear that flat 4 sound, and a better intake/intercooler...

:D

Looking sweet

Had a laugh embarrasing a Toureg owner showing off to his girlfriend today....

"hey look how fast my toureg is..."

"Oh he left me for dead... and made it around the corner on the right side of the road"

Lovely and clean :)

Bet it stays that way all of five mins in Cyprus. Too dusty for anything else :p

Its just had a full Autoglym Detail, so nothing more than a pressure wash and a chamois should keep it looking sweet...

And its garaged overnight which helps... the real problem is when it rains during the day... megafilth... thats when all the dust comes down...

I am gonna fit Impreza anti roll bars to start with, then 17-18inch wheels and then decide whether to lower it or not...

:D

Off to Istanbul tomorrow myself, then Cairo on friday... sheesh what a jetset life I lead...

Where you staying Goatyman? and for how long?

Weather is a bit pants at present (not as pants as UK and Istanbul mind), but on a warm day its nice in the sun

:D
