Out doing promotions for "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" last year, Johnny Depp indicated he'd be keen on going ahead with further sequels beyond the third film with his Jack Sparrow character. A year on, he hasn't changed his mind.

The actor tells The Telegraph: "I'm the luckiest guy in the world to have had such a great experience. If I walk away from Jack now, I'll walk away with some amazing memories. But At World's End leaves open the possibility of a fourth or fifth movie, which I wouldn't be opposed to on an actor level because I feel there is a lot more territory to explore with Captain Jack."

Why do more sequels? "I've never really felt I'm done with playing the character, so why shouldn't we try a fourth and a fifth?." Depp is presently finishing up Tim Burton's film adaptation of "Sweeney Todd" in London.

If At World's End* is like the first then I think they should call it quits because it is much better to leave on a high note, the second film was a bit of a disappointment as it just felt like padding that wasn't really necessary in terms of adding anything to the series. :)

I've not seen DMC but i've seen the first. I'm going to watch the third at cinema on Friday so i'm going to watch DMC on DVD before I go. My question is, are the Pirate movies dependant on the previous? As in, to understand the next, do you need to watch the previous? Or were they written and directed so you can just watch any and like the movie?

I've noticed that about films recently, " Trilogy, Bob, we need to make it a trilogy!"

Haven't seen the third but given the way the second ended (think Kill Bill, Miami Vice type ending) It probably would help greatly to watch it before going to see the third.
