And his live shows on stage?

not dissing him, just would not believe it unless it was a 1-2-1 with me and no crew or actors and cameras, its just me, not sure i buy it, not saying its the case but live shows could have plants or scripts and stages, like i said i don't dislike him, but would need to see it to buy it

Until this series of live shows i thought what he did was amazing.
The live shows have killed it though, i really think given a few tv tech heads i could achieve the same thing.

Think of it, he was obviously not in a casino. Did he fancy giving some punter £180k of his own money, or simply make it come as close as possible to the number so still giving his technique some credence without losing the ££.

If people see pnly the first 5mins and last 5mins of the show they would not be bamboozeled by his "techniques"

It's obviously fake, otherwise he'd be retired and living in the Bahamas right now.

Not everyone wants money. He's a showman, he lives for when he's on stage, why would he want to retire?

Not only that, many methods mentioned that would give him wads of cash are illegal, why would he want to risk it when I'm sure he gets paid loads from being on TV and his live stage shows?

You should really read his books before you judge him, especially tricks of the mind.

He's a very clever man but never pretends to be anything but a showman. He sends people back who he thinks aren't susceptible quite publically. The premise of nearly everything he does is based on the human's sub conscious willingness to conform. He just exploits it, and does so very well with a lot of initiative and intelligence.

It frustrates me that people brand him as 'fake', because he's never confessed to be anything else.

There are a lot of comments regarding him not having used it to become rich, which is pretty hilarious, as that's practically what he's done. He's just not applied it in a direct manner most of us associate it with. A large proportion of the wealthy people in this world are so due to their influence on others, regardless of if they are conscious of it or not. Derren is someone who was born with natural influence and intelligence and expanded it into entertainment. Richard Branson was born with natural influence and intelligence and used it to build a multi-billion dollar empire. You'd be surprised how closely their personality traits weave.

I like his shows, they are both facinating and very very clever.

Its the same watching David Blaine, you know its magic but some of the times you just cant figure out how the hell he does it.

I have to admit i am a fan of DB and he is one hell of a clever guy.

Someone said his show was fake, i think this refers to the Seance he did at that hall where 17 Chinese students lived. He admitted openly it was a fake, but he also stated the reason he did it was to prove that there is something supernatural. Hence why when he was doing the show, he asked viewers at home to call in to the help line while they were doing their own Ouija Boards subsequently this help line was swamped within several minutes (thus proving his point that there is something wierd). My wife and sister tried calling it on the night he did it as apparently they "got through"

I don't care, he entertains :) Once watched one where he took some kid into the desert and made the sun disappear. Was brilliant!

lmao it was great the kid **** his pants.
I pnce watched one in his early days where he used to ask people for their wallets, one bloke did then realised what he had done and came back, Derren explained that it was a show and he'd had him over sorry about all that then asked for his wallet again and the bloke laughing gave it to him a second time and walked off, it was good to watch. I'll get my coat now. ;)

Richard Branson basically saw how companies were doing things, copied them and offered better customer service.
