I've been searching the net but not having much luck.

Are there any designers/artists out there who could create a sports/college-cartoon logo of a squirrel?

Something along the lines of/mixture between:

Not necessarily, but if needed for aesthetic purposes 'The Squirrels' or 'Squirrels' would do fine.
 
Wow, honestly didn't expect that at all!

To me, the arm and paw look a little funny/off, but aside from that it's completely blown out my expectations already.

Just had a comment from a friend who asked me to look into this:

Me: Any comments to pass on?

Him: Just loosen up on the steroids that things taken lol.

Take that as what you will. :p
 
Thinking we're getting it all done through that prosoccer website mate. It's either a print or an embroidery jobby, but have to speak to the other lads at the weekend. Haven't even decided on a kit or colour yet. :p

If you're alright with working on it mate, I'm happy to step back and let you crack on. Don't want to twist your arm or anything and you know... too many chefs and all that.

Definitely will post up any finished product, it would be incredibly rude not to.

I agree with the mean thing, but seeing as I'm not the only one forking up money, I can't really fight it!

Just go for whatever you think will work/look good.

EDIT:

I'm just wondering: would thicker black lines around the squirrel's definition improve it? /noob

Nothing it realistically going to be ordered for another week yet (minimum) anyway.

Any input is appreciated. Still a little stunned the thread's taken off the way it has!
 
I was informed today that the actual name is "The Headless Squirrels" as opposed to just "The Squirrels".

Dunno if that gives anyone anything to play with!

A squirrel with its head attached is still preferred. The name is more for pedantry.

I imagine it wouldn't be too taxing for Neoni et al. to alter their current works to reflect the name change as opposed to decapitating small virtual mammals.

Personally, I imagine with Neoni's example: 'The Headless' could be easily encorporated above 'Squirrels' but smaller and perhaps in a different fontface/type, etc.
 
Cheers Neoni. Hate to be a pain, but is it possible the lose that 'h' or play around with it somehow? It just looks a little out of place if I'm honest!

If it's easier, you could use the earlier non-headless logo and put 'The Headless' in a thin band above the badge akin to how England do theirs with the three-lions and 'England' above it, it that makes sense.
