A server rack modified with matt black sides and a black tinted front window with 5 250mm fans, modified to support a server computer in the bottom half, top spec computer in top half and watercooled throughout.

And heavy.

I've got one of those (IBM version) in my office at work.

My boss and i had to empty it fully to get it upstairs as it wouldn't fit in the lift. We even removed both the front and rear doors and side panels but we could still barely lift it.

Seriously heavyweight!

Not something for a LAN party let me tell you!!! :p :D

We have had the Favourite, Least Favourite and all inbetween case threads, so how about the case that you want that you just can't get or it is impossible!

I will start off with my dream case:

Would be a ATCs 110 Chassis, with 120mm front fans, same looks, and 120mm rear. The PSU compartment would be modified to easily accept modular PSU's but would only cost £200 new. Would be made by ATC-Tek not Coolermaster. The 120mm front would be possible by using a inner funnel from 80mm to 120mm; with the hard drives moved back slightly to facilitate the change.

So go on then, if you wanted a case which would be your dream one?

Couldn't have put it any better myself. That's exactly what I've been looking for for years. I almost got a TJ03 because it's the closest I can find to that description but it doesn't have a 120mm rear fan. Until something like that comes out I'll stick to my ATC 111 and 5000.

If you were to design a complete case is say Sketchup to be made from aluminium, how much would it cost for a limited run for a manufacturer to fabricate (not assemble) the basic chassis - any estimates?

I think the easiest way would be to phone a local one up and ask them.

Nothing wrong with the old TJ03...

Here he is with the standard side panel:

imho the pic with the standard panel is just beautiful but windows on these ruin them a little. For me the point of the 110 / 111 / TJ03 and even my S5000 to some extent is the plain look and clear lines. That's why I love doors.

That bottom pic with the standard door is superb :)

Yeah, there's a lot to be said for the nice, clean, stock side panels. I like to switch between them every couple of days. The stock panel looks better when my desk is nice and clean (which today, it certianly is not!)

I also have one of the old "Black Widow" ATC 201 cases. My only qualm is that they never made a standard, non-window side panel with the glossy black finish for it.

I've retired the 201 to the bedroom, as a media server. It now has a silverstone fan controller (instead of the tacky akasa one), and the tacky led fans have been replaced.

Ok gona be hard to relay my design to you guys but il give it a go!

Imagine a long square box with a 400mm fan at either end in black brushed alliminium but tipped on its edge so its points upwards at an angle like a \ with a stand on the bottom air is sucked in the bottom and out the top and the various components are placed inside the bottom edge with drive access obviously tilted along the front. Its kinda hard to explain but trust me its looks and performs very well in my head!
