I said a few weeks ago that my site would be coming under critique from you guys soon. That time is now here.

Basically, I'd love your opinions, suggestions and ****takes. :)

Generally the site is probably about 80% complete. It mainly needs more content in the archive, and for that to be a little more organised. It also needs some content on the homepage.

If anybody has any suggestions on what my homepage should have, tell me.

I'd like to put something different on there, not the usual "Welcome to my site, have a look around etc" or a little latest news column filled with pointless updates.

Also, if you like the site and find it interesting, feel free to subscribe to the RSS feed on the blog page. :)

Anyway, fire away. ;)

I'll be the first to say it looks very snazzy! Very impressive! :D

Unsure of what to put on the first page but thought I'd say it was looking good regardless :p

Wow nice!

Looked around, I really love the navigation menu, the fades look great and are a subtle touch which add a really attractive edge. The colour scheme is great, with a very modern 'up-to-date' look, you definitely have that down to a T with everything consistant throughout.

The photos used throughout compliment the site very well, as they have such clarity. The website as a whole is very clean cut and I really like the design. I was thinking the homepage, maybe contain previous clients? Or a few snapshots etc..? It's a tough one to think up, without going down the cliched route (which natually you want to avoid)!

One small adjustment I would say (which I'm currently not to keen on) is with the links contained on the index, network and archive pages. Where they are all underlined. Now I can see why this has been done, but think it would be better without them and look more professional like this (along with better suiting your design). Maybe just have them underlined upon hovering over the links or something similar. Just a thought and more a personal preference than anything.

Also I was thinking maybe if your network page grows much larger, than you could include an alternating background colour, but only a really subtle colour change like a slightly darker/lighter colour etc. Maybe this would help the look and usability when reading through the list.

Hope this helps and there are no real major changes I would recommend as it has a superb design which has been pulled off very well.

Overall, I really love the design.

;)

I like it a lot, the colours you've you used and the how it changes to a different page. :D

Visually I think it looks the sEx!

I particularly like the fade on the main navigation, little things like that I love. There are also nice graphics and some good content. I like the animation when you click to view your design work, but I can't help feeling that they would be better suited as thumbnails.

Another thing I'm not to keen on is the quote text on your blog. I like the pink colour, but when the text is that big it doesn't look right to me. The line spacing on the main text of the blog could be a bit bigger as well.

I don’t know what you could put on the index page, but if I think of anything I'll mention it.

Good work

Nice site, I like it :) Only possible comment is the underlining of the links (especially on the Network and Archive pages).. sort of makes it look a tad less professional. Maybe a dotted/dashed underline or some other link indicator..? Other than that, it's cool :)

It's crap. Should've used tables, animated GIFs and frames.

(But really, I like it...one bit I find confusing is the link fade onmouseover, initially it renders the text very hard to see so I'd try fading the background and the text at the same time. But that might just be me being boring :))

Love it :)

The colour scheme is very effective, the site looks neat and crisp. I also like the image rota you have going, very good clarity there, although in one of them, you can see a bloke in a striped t-shirt holding a camera up in the reflection of the girl's sun glasses :p

I also agree with TomaHawk in that I think the underlines on the links don't look that good (especially when pink).

Vertical, in IE 6.0.

I don't think vertical scrolling will be too much of an issue, 80% of sites on the net require you to scroll vertically to read the content.

Plus the homepage has zero content in it at the moment, so even if it scrolls slightly with no content it will certainly scroll with some in. :)

It's really nice. Normally things like page transitions and animated hovers make a site look tacky but the way you've done it looks really professional. I particularly like the rotating images.

As for the front page... perhaps some 'excerpts' from the other pages? The first paragraph of your latest blog entry, a few of your favourite sites this week, an example of your design...

I like that idea, cheers.

looking good mate. couple of things to point out :)
recently I've switched to opera as firefox had crashed its last time on me

now for some reason Opera isn't displaying your hover effects on the menu at all. it's also not changing the header image, it's just the same image on every page and to top it off the image ain't of one of the girls :(

Design wise I think you could do something with the blog posts as at the moment they seem and little plain. Nothing wrong with them, just I know your capable of much more than that :)

Not sure about the positioning of the \\DesignCut logo either, seems a shame to place it at the bottom of the page.

apart from that top job mate.

For the home page content it might be intresting plaing some rss feeds on there to other desing, html, php sites for news.

I think it's a nice design, but there seems to be a lack of content, and I feel that the content there isn't particularly well presented.

/2p :)

like the looks of it, especially the fading from page to page
and it will no doubt get better when theres more content on there :)
