Designing a website....

So I am trying to design a website. Nothing to flashy (dont have the skills

) but im trying to make it look "decent". Eg whilst not professional, at least not the word of a raving amateur.

Also since I am building it for someone not particularly ahem skilled, they have to be able to maintain it without it dying on them xD.

Someone suggested that I build the site in Photoshop CS4, slice it up and stick it in Dreamweaver.

I have gotten some tutorials and I can slice stuff up. No idea on how to put it together in a "working" site though.

Can anyone recommend some help for Dreamweaver CS4 or an alternative?

Chapter 10 is about slicing, plus I'm sure there's other techniques you can pick up from watching it. £15 for a month so just learn as much as you can.

If it's just a one off and you don't really care to learn xhtml, css, js, etc., why not just use wordpress along with one of the thousands of free themes available?

If you are into photoshop you could use Sitegrinder from
http://www.medialab.com/sitegrinder/

This lets you do the site in photoshop then it creates a website with all the html css etc. It brilliant and a working demo is available on the site and there are tutors as well
