Desire - How do I delete a mail account?

I created a Googlemail account as it seems quite neccessary for some features on the Desire.
Once I'd created the account I went into the "Mail" application and attempted to create a new POP account for Googlemail.

I've never had a Googlemail account before - so I now of course know this was a mistake.
The "Googlemail" application was setup for my account and is working fine.

How do I delete this rouge account under the "Mail" application?
I don't seem to be able to find an option to delete this account - I'd like to get rid of it as it's obviously incorrect.

Open the Mail app.
Switch to the email account you want to delete.
Press MENU, and then tap More > Settings > Delete account.
