Hi all, the Meaco I bought last year lasted 5 minutes but I would buy again as Amazon's return policy is superb. Feels a shame to buy something you know is flawed though.

Are Dysons worth the money?

The thought is to get something just to move the air around a bit on the humid nights.

No A/C posts please... I have one for emergencies that vents externally but it isn't an every day thing and I'm not willing to invest in a full system for 600sqft of living space

We have the Dyson DP04 for the bedroom and have been very pleased with it. It runs all night every night usually and has done for a couple of years no issues.

I'd rather fit a ceiling fan if it is for a bedroom rather than a dyson.
I was going to necro a ceiling fan thread to ask this question. The one room is 3.5mx1.6m and the other is 3.5m x 3.2m. Would a ceiling fan be over kill for the tiny room?

Of course a Dyson isn't 'worth it'. It's a £300 fan that does exactly the same thing as a £30 fan.

But they do look nice. So it really depends how important the asthetics are to you.

Aren't they also like very quiet?

Not that I'd shell out £300 for a fan regardless.

I dont think so, a 132cm fan might look a little odd in the small room but you can get smaller ones... https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/EN78763.html

Obviously they drop quite low but you can get more aesthetically designed ones.

Had a quick look but even with my laissez faire attitude I can't see how £400 is good value. I did check out HUKD to see the discussion over there and Baneco came up with their Air Shower products as "just as good" products at less than a quarter of the price. I may give those a go.

Get a 12v Power adapter and ziptie 9 (3x3) 1200rpm 140mm fans together :D
You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find fan chats on this forum that aren't computer related :p

Thanks; will take a look.

Can't disagree there, it is expensive. Plus size it looks good, it's really quiet and has a great app with integration into Home Assistant for monitoring air quality. I got it on 0% finance they were offering so it felt a lot less painful :p

I've no doubt there's better options but I'm happy with the purchase.

As someone who has allergies it’s worth every penny.
Remind me how a fan that works as an air multiplier filters the air it's blowing at you, compared to a fan at least 5 times cheaper where all the air goes through a filter.

Don't get me wrong - I've owned a Dyson fan, and I'm tempted to get another for our front room, but it's pure pretentious flamboyance.
