It is the quality of the light that matters if you don't want to be fatigued,
so a mundane e27/b22 fitting, light with a high cri bulb, at 4000k (nearish daylight) is best,

If you can grow a (canary?) plant , that is usually a good indication of quality.

(not sure if any offices now have led lighting ours is using t8 flourescent tubes which have high cri)

Cannot stress enough JPaul's point.
try and avoid "blue light" for a minimum of two hours before sleep - Its been proven to alter your sleeping patterns / how you sleep / when you sleep.

You should see the new LED panels that are getting fitted nowadays, they're amazing. About a centimeter thick (great for those of us who work above ceilings a lot), plop in to any existing ceiling grid by simply replacing a tile, give off amazing light, consume nothing and last forever. Genuinely impressive.

Company I work for makes exactly those products. Pretty much whole building is lit with LEDs now.
It's interesting watching our SMT machines place the LEDs. Really just a big printer.

I am amazed from talking to the engineers how much there is to something apparently so simple!

//Personally I'd recommend 4000k, anything brighter will give you headaches.

I got one of these the other month, has adjustable brightness and colour temp

Might pick one up for my bedside cabinet as they do look nice and the phone charger connection is handy
