Desk or Floor?

I don't like my PC on the floor, I like it on my desk, but how does that affect the cooling, its colder on the floor i suppose..., but less dust up top maybe?

What are the advantages and disadvantages, I'm trying to build a workstation and trying to factor this in

I've done both and I find desk a lot better.

while on the floor it got very dusty very quickly, so the advantage of cooler air was negated. I also managed to scratch the case with a chair.

On a desk the case stays cleaner though temps are a little worse, 1-2 degree if that.. Other things to take into account is will it be in the sun on the desk? Because that obvoisly affects temps. Also noise can be an issue, as its closer to you it may seem louder unless its a sound proofed case.

My current pc is under a desk and the heat gets trapped under the desk, awesome in winter for keeping your feet warm, horrible in summer. so although the floor should be cooler trapped air just gets re used. - maybe worth taking into account depending on how your desk is setup.
also dust is a big issue under there.

my new pc is going on top of my desk ^ out of direct sunlight

It depends on your room and where your desk is in the room...I just go with whatever looks best.

Its on the floor for me because it would look ugly on the desk...would look too much like a eyesore.

A good thing about it on the floor is I have plenty of room to move my mouse now.
