Desk top for AutoCAD

Hey All,

I am starting a new job soon and the role requires using CAD in both 2 & 3d.

The new employer has asked me to spec a PC that will handle CAD well and I thought I would start here.

He has not set a budget but in his words "all singing and all dancing" should be had!

So could you recommend me a PC spec, pre built for around £1k or what you feel will do the job well.

Have a look at some of the i5 and i7 pre-built bundles in the OcUK store.
Most of them should fit the bill with ease.

Depending on whether you are working in 2d or 3d you might need to get a bit more detailed:

Consider an Nvidia QuadroFX card rather than a gaming card.

Consider 8GB to 16GB of RAM.

Turn off vertical sync in the OpenGL settings on your graphics card driver.

Make sure OpenGL is set on the Display options in AutoCAD itself.

out of all the bundles available i cant find anything that would be perfect for you

i would ask in the customer service section if you could get one of those, but to change the i7 2600k and the motherboard to the Asrock Z68 PRO3

this will very likely take the price up to ~£1100 though
