Hi All,

I have over the past couple of days had my Windows 7 (64bit) desktop freezing, no mouse, task manager, etc. Only way to fix is a hard reset!
I have ran a stress test overnight (Real bench 8 hours - pass) no BSOD is appearing on hang up, Also ran Perfect Disc defragmentation today, and ran check disc which threw up no issues.
I am going to run the system file checker tool, and also upgrade my VGA drivers to the new 15.6 betas. Also I will look at the HDDs in detail (two blacks in RAID 0) with Chrystal disc and check S.M.A.R.T. status for any bad sectors.
I have the latest BIOS version for my motherboard and chipset, audio drivers, etc. are all up to date.
Any other suggestions? PC has been fine for a year and a half, no problems with it whatsoever!

Assuming spec in your sig.

Remove the overclock.
Run memtest on each stick individually.

Wouldn't expect the RAID to affect the system as you'll have installed onto the SSD I assume? Would check the SSD life.

Also you shouldn't be defragging your SSD.

Not defragging my SSD, games only installed on it! Only my RAID (System Volume)
Aye, bizarre it could be overclock temps are fine too, high 60's on stress testing! will try that also.
Would memory issues not show up in the real bench stress test? Will give memtest a bash also.

Cheers

Overclocks can degrade over time and require more volts to keep stable, but to keep it simple for now it's easier to remove and reset to stock, easiest way would be a CMOS reset and set your RAM back to the XMP profile.

Not sure if anything memory related may of showed up, but memtest is quite thorough in it's testing.

Try the overclock first, as memtest takes some time. :)

Probably, but would expect blue screens. However doesn't rule it out and worth checking. Would take a picture of your overclock, reset it to stock and see how it goes.

Could be a couple of things but is a good starting point.

Well, completed everything last night! Turns out a couple of settings in the UEFI had changed inadvertently, when I updated the BIOS, fixed this.
Ran system file checker, and it discovered corrupted files but could not fix, used sfcfix, then ran sfc again - no issues now. Couple of small issues with SUR error (26), will run the System Update Readiness Tool tonight to hopefully resolve this.
The main cause of my issues was AI Suite III I used for fan speed/control and a dodgy I2C bus driver from ASUS! Now controlling all fans (PWM profiles) through the UEFI instead!
Uninstalled that also, looking good! memtest ran 4 passes successfully also.
Putting it down to the software, rather than the hardware.
Thanks for your help.
