Hey guys, Just a quick problem. I added more ram to my computer which reset my overclocks I had set.

So I went and put my I5 3570K to 4.5ghz, It has watercooling and I have the voltage upto 1.36, It normally sits around 1.34 max under load. Temp stays around 50c as well.

Anyway, The ram should be able to take 1866mhz, But when I set it to that and start windows up, shortly after everything locks up and freezes. I've had to set my ram to use 1600mhz to get it to run but am unsure if its the CPU or the ram causing it. Cause I've had a lock up later on using my PC for no reason :S

Try putting memory controller voltage up a smidgen, often more than 2 sticks requires just a bit more voltage

Ugh nevermind, I played war thunder no issues. Watched youtube for awhile and then my computer flipped out again.

How far can you rise the voltage for DRAM? Anyone?

you might need to set 1.10v cpu/vtt this is for the integrated memory controller inside the cpu

its different from dram voltage, with 16gb you usually need more than stock

I would also try 1.65v on that memory just to check wether it helps with the stability. Follow wazza's advice also as you will need tad more volts using populated memory slots.
