desktop hibernate?

iv got windows 7 64 bit on my laptop and desktop. on the laptop i can shut it down using hibernate which stores all the internet pages open programs etc on the hdd when i switch off i dont get that option on the desktop is there a way of enabling it?

In the power options you can change the function of your power switch to hibernate instead of shutdown. If you're not bothered about it going onto standby you can just use sleep instead.
