desktop icons keep going, windows 8

ok, this is getting on my nerves now, my desktop icons (not all of them) keep going, like im deleting them, i check the recycle bin, they aint there!

I dont even use my desktop for anything other than things im using around now, i.e at the moment i am sending emails to people when they are signing up for something, so i had 3 text documents, with pre written templates, so i could just copy/paste them <--- all 3 have gone.

i had 2 icons of games im currently playing, both of them went!!

a few other things have gone too, a film, a few pictures etc etc.


any ideas?

Wow that's an interesting one, not seen that before. A few questions :-
Are you using a Microsoft Account or a local account to login?
If a Microsoft account, are you allowing it to sync to the Microsoft servers?
If a local account, are you saving these icons to your desktop or the public desktop?
