Desktop mic?

Is it possible to get a decent desktop mic for around £20? I've ordered the Kingston Hyper X but from some of the reviews I've seen they all say the mic is poor.

They aren't desktop but seem to be okay. Are you doing professional work with the mic (recording etc) or just Skype and similar? I think the standard Cloud mic should be okay if you are just doing voice calls or similar.

Try saving up a bit more cash and go for the Samson Go Mic Portable USB Condenser Microphone. Brilliant little desktop mic (I have one). Plenty of very positive reveiws out here.

Make some recordings using teh Hyper X mic and listen back to them, or get some feedback from friends on Team Speak/Mumble.

I would have though the mic is more than sufficient enough for general use.
