Hi,

I was looking at some desktop microphones since I get headaches quite often - I don't really like having a headset on (probably shouldnt be on the computer either, but hey ho)

How good are they? If I was leaning back in my chair, would they still pick my voice up clearly?

what sort of price range am I looking at for a good one?

Thanks

Have a look at the Samson USB ones, I have the C03U and it works great with Mumble, picks my voice up when I lean back and nobody complains about any weird noises or anything.

Turn the gain down and get up close to it and the audio quality on recording is very good.

I'm looking for more a budget one. The problem being I am currently using some cheap turtle beaches, the mic often echo's and makes some weird sounds for the received.

I found some Samson Q2U, reviews don't look too bad.

Edit

Forgot to say that I do use headphones, just don't want the mic to be attached for when I get a headache and don't wish to wear it.
