You're in a similar situation to me, I was going to pickup a Legion 5 with a 6800/3070TI/32GB/1TB SSD/QHD 165Hz Gsync, for 1300 with an EGX discount off a competitor for the wife, and maybe one for me, at the weekend. Unfortunately computer rebooted during checkout, and on reboot; they were showing out of stock and hadn't held the stock despite being in checkout.
Reached out to them on the day, and even though they had stock back in this week, they refused to do anything and advised I'd have to pay the standard price of £1799.
Absolutely gutted, as there's no way I'm paying £500/1000 more for the exact same machine/s, also rather infuriated with the customer support there as have been back and forwards with them since Sunday, as they first tried to fob me off saying they'd all been sold and no more due in, and then when I got a basket reminder the same day, and they turned up back in stock the next day (so they obviously either DID have more, OR had had cancellations), they still refused to do anything, meaning the cynic in me thinks they've swallowed the manufacturer discount and are reselling the cancelled stock at full price to make more profit.
Absolutely infuriating to be honest; small amount more money for them that could have been an absolutely customer service and loyalty win, whereas now it's more like a spit in the face.
I am hoping a similar deal turns up on Black Friday, as it'd have been an ideal blend of size and performance for the wife, meeting and beating our old laptops across the board, but with a warranty, and smaller, lighter and better battery life on the go. Better screen and potentially better keyboard too. Basically just the right balance of spec and other factors vs price, which'd I was happy to press the buy button on. We both primarily game on the desktop now over our laptops; but as the Switch shows, portability is very useful, and this would have been substantially easier to move around than our older Omens (which admittedly have been rock solid).
