Desktop Speaker Stands (DIY)

I'm having real trouble finding reasonably priced speaker stands for my m audio av40's.

I need them to be about 20cm off my desk. I have seen some atacama ones but they are absurdly priced.

I'm looking for anything to be honest, even something that are not designed for speakers. I don't want to attach them on wall brackets nor do I have the space to use floor standing speaker stands.

I was thinking about getting a couple of black plantpots (or similar) filling them with sand and being done with it. However the pc is in my bedroom and I don't think the wife would appreciate such a solution...

If anybody has some ghetto type fix they have on their own set up please share!

why do they need to be 20cm? if its just for vibration dampening look at some mopads, if you really need 20 cm then why not take a trip doen local DIY shop n knock yourself up a pair to your own spec, not too difficult

I just need to raise them to ear level for gaming etc and yes to stop the vibro's going through my cheapo desk.

Yeh I could knock up some my self but I'm a slacker woud rather buy something.

These are just a bit higher (24cm/240mm) and £40, dont know what budget youre looking at though, they should fit your av40s
