Desktop Speaker Stands - Rubbish!

Why is the market for desktop speaker stands so bad? I’m looking for something 20-30cm tall with a neat aesthetic (for speakers with a 14x10cm base feet) and there is, like, nothing to buy!! Am I missing something?

The best bet seems like some K&M ones.... but they are a bit bugly aren’t they?!

Yeah, you’ll mainly find stands designed for studios thus basic and sturdy.

Go homemade by yourself or via Etsy.

I'm using these Gear4Music stands, these give you everything you want. Height adjustable, lock solid in place, height better then most, construction good should last many years. I'm really critical on audio, find some of my threads but happy with these.

Only small complaint is would like a little more height, but after i've added the isolation foam it puts speakers at correct height.

EDIT. These Gear4Music ones are far better then the Amazon ones you have linked to. You want the speakers directly straight on (once height is correct) those Amazon ones could bend down, you only have to be 2-3 degrees difference in angle and it will effect your audio.

EDIT2. Those wooden ones are not good, as no height adjustment, just 1cm difference in height adjustment you can notice this. They might look good in the 'show us your desk' photo forum, but not good for setting up audio.

I can't stress enough how important speaker placement is, so important to set speakers up.

@Things change I've changed I think those wooden ones are asymmetrical - might be incompatible with my OCD

Yep, it's because consumers don't want stands as they don't look good (need to be very heavy), and thus all stands are utility based for pros.

My eventual solution to this is likely to be wall mounting the speakers (yes, you need to attenuate the bass to deal with the bass boost, but pro monitors are designed to get around this, so it is only a concern with consumer stuff).
