So I've had issues with my desktop recently and I'm not really sure what to do!

My issue is that I'm getting ridiculously slow speed from my desktop. When I mean slow, it's ranging from 0.5Mbps-30Mbps+ but usually sat between 0.5-2Mbps at the moment. I've just purchased a new card and still have the same issue.

From exactly the same spot doing a speedtest on my phone and various other devices I will get around 30Mbps.

Anyone able to shed some light for me? Even tried booting into safe mode with networking and still getting the same speeds so that's pretty much me out of ideas as I'm not exactly clued up with networking. As far as I know I haven't even installed anything new apart from trying different drivers on my desktop since this issue started around 2 weeks ago.

Sounds like possibly more interference in the area, could be something like a leaky microwave, or even something from the neighbours. What about another connected to the same wifi, in the same room as the desktop? Does that suffer from low speeds as well?

No issues with other appliances in the same room as the computer. I've tried other devices in the same spot and get the speed that I would normally expect (~33Mbps)

Just downloading a virus scanner now to rule out that being an issue.

Also I downloaded a channel scanner thing. Image below.

Any obvious issues here?

So I ran AVG and 1 threat was found which just happened to be a corrupt installer. Switched everything off for the night and tried again before work this morning and the only other thing I did was remove a few coats from a hanger that's on the back of the door and voila back up to 36Mbps

Hope that leaves everything resolved, done a few speed tests remotely whilst at work and it seems absolutely stable now so hopefully just me being a dunce and blocking the signal a bit too much  :D
