Hello,

I do a lot of travelling but also lik to game. I will be buying a table for travelling but want to desktop for gaming etc. I am not very IT literate. So I dont think building would be an option. I need a monitor, keyboard, mouse and Desktop. How much do I need to spend roughly

Any help would be great thanks. Also if I decided on gamin laptop instead how much should I spend?

Roughly a thousand pound will get you a decent desktop, incl monitor etc, an equivalent laptop would cost 2-3 times as much

Have a look at the systems on OcUKs shop, here, if you have a particular budget in mind we can maybe give more specific advice

please dont get a gaming laptop - they are hideously overpriced

lets say you travel between two houses (uni and home for example), a gaming laptop will set you back around £2500 for a decent one when you could have two computers, one at each house, which perform a lot better and cost less than £2500 total :)

£1000 are you serious? £600-700 will get you a DECENT gaming rig, buying top end components isn't always the way to go.
Search through the sandy bridge threads.

Sometimes it's the case of buy cheap buy twice, I always spend a bit more on my builds and that way they can be overclocked higher and last longer (also in other ways).
