Hi,

My PC suddenly crashed and shutdown (which is due to a RAM issues i am currently resolving via RMA) when the PC booted back up, EZFlash screen appeared and said the BIOS is corrupt and it auto re-flashed back to the original version even though it was on the original version. After it auto-flashing the BIOS the PC reboot and now it constantly just sits at the American Megatrends screen, it doesnt scan for any disks or ram that you would usually see

I have cleared the CMOS by moving the jumper over to pins 2/3 and have tried this a few times. I get no beeps or anything, just a nice black screen with an american megatrends logo and that's it

Can anyone tell me whats wrong and how i can resolve this? All fans are spinning and the PSU is fine, along with CPU

hmm not too sure but it sounds like a problem i had when building mine that since the mobo is old the bios with it didnt recognise the 45nm CPU's and would get stuck at boot. did you have to flash the bios the first time when you built it?

I didnt need to flash it to get it working, however i did flash it about a month ago as it was a bit old ... been using it fine for a month with no bios/boot related issues

can you get into the bios screen? sounds like its got corrupted somehow, if you can get in then use another computer to download latest bios onto USB and use EZflash to flash your BIOS, if you cant get in I think youre stuck, either try and get hold of a new BIOS chip if you can (dont know if theyre fixed or removable for that board) else its new board im afraid

Definitely sounds like you've corrupted the BIOS. But make sure to do a systematic check - remove all but essential parts and see if it boots.

cant get into bios, just literally switch it on, see an American Megatrends logo and there it sits, no keystrokes take it any further

i've removed pretty much every component and changed the psu/cpu/ram etc and still it doesnt

I havent corrupted the BIOS, it just restarted and did it itself ... this board is less than a month old, going to RMA it ... nothing but problems with these crappy Asus boards ... how i regret buying this over a gigabyte!
