I've got a mates email back up from Outlook Express on a 4Gb USB drive. It backed up fine ( apparently ) and I've just reformatted his laptop and reinstalled Windows on it.

Now when I attempt to copy the .dbx files back onto any PC, it gives me an error message 0x80070570 and tells me the file is corrupt and unreadable.

I'd like to get it off the USB drive, even if it is corrupt and try repairing it but I can't get it off the drive because of this.

Is there a way to copy it off the drive?. HELP!!!! :(

Do not format the disk, but do a disk check on the usb.

With the usb plugged in to the pc, go to my computer, right click on the drive - properties - tools tab - under error checking press the check now button - check both boxes available and then click start.

You MAYBE have some luck like that.

Alternativley, are you saying you cant get the file of the disk?

Have you googled the error?

Cheers guys. I have now managed to get the damaged files off the drive onto my desktop.

Any advice on how to repair an Outlook Express .dbx file?.
