desperatly trying to get quicktime and front row to play xvid,divx and lots of others

Hi guys,

i've followed the FAQ and lots of online guides for making xvid play in osx.

Nothing is seeming to work, i've tried copying the xvid component file into my quicktime library but no joy. it does work in the divx player though.

I would rather get these codecs to play in front row, so i can watch movies in style!

ah got it off the apple site, still not working though. do i have to restart after i drag perian into my qucktime folder?
