The wife just got an ultrasonic cat repeller for the garden. Ouch.

Supposed to sweep 18-27 khz when it detects motion. Sound goes right through me. Flipping loud too!

In other news, I got some M-Audio Q40s cheap on the bay. Nice enough but usual story. The NS1000s are better...
 
You're lucky then. I've noticed that my hearing has gone a bit, mainly from listening to music too loudly rather than using headphones I think :(
 
Mate, I hate those cat repeller things. Interesting thing is that not a single one of my house mates can hear the sound it makes but me! They think I am making it up, that I can't really hear it, they actually had to test it out, hiding the device and switching it on and off then seeing if I am reacting to it or not.

Kinda feel like I've got some special powers lol :D
 
ya know those sound devices that was desinged to stop teenagers from being "anti-social" and they were outside shops and stuff, well sum1 in my class @ school had recorded a really high pitch sound similar to those devices and played on their phone or sumthin. everyone in the class would cringe and sum people collapsed on the floor, but the teachers couldnt hear anything cos their old so they thought it was sum sort of prank LOL
