I'm trying to copy for files from my main pc upstairs to the HTPC downstairs but keep getting this error message.

Both Pc's are on windows 8.

Homegroup all set up

Access in sharing and security all seems correct but still get this message.

any ideas?

the way i got round it was to allow everyone permission in the advanced sharing for the folder and permissions,
there might be a better way round but it worked for me

I tried that still wouldn't work.

The way I used to have it was in my computer as a network drive I can do it that way but can't make any changes to files inside the networked drive or add files to it. All permissions are fine. Even have anonymous set to everyone.

I finaly got it to work by re-doing the homegroup then right click on the folder I want to be shared and select share with --> Homegroup (view & edit).

Then when you open my computer and go to the homegroup section the folders finaly show and I can make changes.
